wish i had the bigger version of this picture. i just tried to capture a good picture of the mountains from the top of a roof of a building we were building. some marines down below throwing a football at the end of a days work.

i’m a seabee in the united states navy, & our job is construction. seabee is a nickname for CB, which stands of construction battalion. my first deployment was to afghanistan, & we had many projects all over afghanistan. we built for the marines, anything that they needed. if they needed a new FOB (fancy name for a base) we were there building it from the ground up. anyway, this picture is of the vehicle called an MRAP, is what we used everyday to get to work. i’ll be honest with you, i definitely felt like a badass.
